Our dream has come true with our two-and-a-half-year secret project.
We decided to have a holiday home in Queenstown, New Zealand, seven years ago, to share with our family and friends. We flew from Brisbane to look at what was available and thought we loved it, but let's wait for the prices to drop. We would do the same thing each year and wait for the prices to drop.
In June 2019, we found a section with amazing views and finally realized Queenstown was a "Unicorn." Every year, we put off purchasing our holiday home; the dream of Queenstown, New Zealand, was increasingly out of reach.
With our good friends Pete and Suzie, we decided to buy and build a luxury co-owned holiday house and share it with our friends. We had done this for years with our boating business, and we co-owned a holiday home in Italy, so it was an easy decision.
We had terrific plans drawn up and showed them to our friends Paul and Jackie; boom, we had three owners in our private home. We started building in June 2020 in the middle of COVID-19. Progress was slow due to staff shortages and the complexity of our build, and getting Queensview out of the ground was immense.
In 2022, you could start to see what our home would look like; you could stand on some of the floors, enjoy the enormous view of the Remarkables and the lake, and look down into Queenstown. It wasn't long after this that we had friends fly into Queenstown to have a look, and one after another, three more friends became Queensview owners, and our co-owned home was complete.
We now had disappointed friends who had held off, waiting to see our completed home before committing to becoming an owner, which got us thinking. Why don't we help others get a foot on the property ladder in Queenstown, and Second Home co-ownership was born.

The first is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment under construction in Village Works Quarters at Jack's Point with a completion date approx March 2025. With views of the famous golf course and a two minute walk to the Club House it’s the perfect location. The second is a 6 bedroom home in the vineyard situated within the grounds of Carrick Winery and Restaurant in Bannockburn near Queenstown due for release in late 2024.
